About Us
ITE—A Community of Transportation Professionals (ITE) works to improve mobility and safety for all transportation system users, helping to build smart and livable communities. Founded in 1930, ITE is a volunteer-driven association of more than 18,000 engineers, planners, consultants, educators, researchers, technologists, and students working in more than 78 countries. ITE Chesapeake and Potomac Section (CAPSITE) is affiliated with the ITE Mid-Colonial District. We provide opportunities for professional development and community building at the regional and local levels through annual meetings, training, luncheons, and connecting members with area Student Chapters.
CAPSITE was charted in 1974 and is an association of transportation professionals in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Northern Virginia - the counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William; independent cities and towns within their confines; and the City of Alexandria.
